July 1st Vineyard Sound Telegraph Cable - Hon. James Buffinton received an official letter on Friday from Secretary Boutwell at Washington, saying, Instructions have been forwarded to the commanding officer of the revenue steamer Moccasin to render such assistance as is necessary in relaying the Vineyard Sound telegraph cable.
July 8th Attacked by Bull - Mr. Joshua S. Bowman, of West Falmouth, was attacked by a bull and seriously injured Thursday. Mr. Bowman had driven his cattle into the yard for the purpose of yoking a pair of oxen, and without any apparent cause the bull went for him, pitched him over with his horns and gored him once or twice, breaking two of his ribs, and badly bruising him. It is feared fatally.
