AFTER being voted as the president of the Methodist Church in Fiji, the Rev Daniel Mustapha said the church should speak out on social issues.
This was reported in The Fiji Times on September 10, 1976.
“I feel the church should be very much vocal on social problems even more than we are at present,” he said.
Among hot community issues the church had to speak about included gambling, abortion, drinking, Sunday trading and racial problems.
Mr Mustapha took a strong stand, well in line with the church, on these matters.
