Amid the final few days of the 2024 Utah legislative session, state lawmakers passed a bill that would no longer require drivers to have a front license plate on their vehicles.
Senate Bill 45, sponsored by Sen. Daniel McCay (R-Riverton), told ABC4 on Tuesday that compliance with front license plates is already low in the Beehive State.
The Utah Senate unanimously passed a resolution Monday in support of Jazz owner Ryan Smith’s request to bring a professional hockey team to the Beehive State.
Protestors gathered at the Utah State Capitol today to speak out against H.B 257, which would prohibit transgender individuals from using restrooms and locker rooms that align with their gender identity in publicly owned and operated buildings, including public universities and K-12 schools. The bill is one of two pieces of legislation restricting transgender.
The controversial bill that sought to limit which public bathrooms people could use passed through the Utah State Senate with an overwhelming majority on Thursday, Jan. 25.
