NASSAU, BAHAMAS Meliá Nassau Beach will close on March 1 to undertake $100 million renovations over the next 24 months, it has been revealed.
Executives of Baha Mar, which is owned by the same company as Meliá, said in a statement that the new, fully renovated resort will open in spring 2023 “following the extensive investment in virtually all areas of the property, consistent with the group’s long-term commitment to a prosperous future for the hospitality and tourism industry in The Bahamas”.
“As the global travel industry continues to evolve in the midst of the global pandemic, we have decided to close the property and complete an extensive renovation of the resort over the next 24 months,” said Graeme Davis, Baha Mar president.

NASSAU| Breaking news coming into Bahamas Press this morning confirms the Melia property on Cable Beach will now closed for the next 24 months .
General Manager Daniel Lozano said as much in a letter to associates employed at the property today.
Citing the challenges all last year with the COVID19 pandemic and the global travel industry evolving with new rules, the resort will remain close over the next 24 months (into 2022).
This comes following the news last year where Club Med on San Salvador announced its closure into December 2021.

The Grenergy portfolio consists of solar projects that will operate under Chile s special regime for distributed generation projects (known as PMGD ). Each of the PMGD projects in the portfolio will have capacity of up to 9 MW
AC and will be entitled to sell its energy output at the regulated stabilized price. The financing structure provides Grenergy the flexibility to add projects to the portfolio, subject to meeting predefined eligibility criteria. Grenergy has been active in Chile since 2016 and has 400 MW of capacity connected or under construction.
