KU crews left Lexington early Wednesday morning for Florida and Georgia. They're staging in the region as they anticipate major power outages in the wake of Hurricane Ian.
In Kentucky, agencies are working to help send aid to Florida and Georgia. Early Wednesday morning, a group of more than 200 Kentucky Utilities and LG&E employees and 14 utility trucks left KU's Lexington Operations Center to prepare to help with Hurricane Ian's impact.
With September being National Preparedness Month, Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company joined FEMA and organizations across the country to educate and empower others to prepare for and respond to all types of emergencies.
