Nestled in the Oregonian forest, right on the outskirts of downtown Portland, is a home that is equal parts minimalist contemporary and woodland fantasy. Designed by William/Kaven Architecture, Royal is a black and glass structure that seems to be a perfect extension of its natural landscape, while still standing as a striking piece of modern architecture.
“When you walk into the home, you re just floored by this feeling of being among the trees,” explains co-founder and partner Daniel Kaven. “You can look outside and see all of the beautiful things that grow in the forests of Oregon.”
