Jean-Denis briefly walked away then returned and attacked him a second time, according to investigators.
The victim felt what he was thought was Jean-Denis hitting or punching him in the back and could not recall if Jean-Denis said anything during it, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim did not realize he was stabbed or see what he was stabbed with. The victim walked to a nearby gas station to call his mother, according to investigators.
When deputies arrived at the gas station, the victim was slumped over the front of the counter and bleeding profusely from his back. A clerk tried to stop the bleeding, according to the sheriff’s office.
