In early August 2020 a neighbour s Ring doorbell captured Dirk Howell, 41, and his girlfriend and Alfie s mother Carla Scott, 35, walking up to the house.
Carla Scott, 35, and Dirk Howell, 41, killed little Alfie after months of harrowing abuse during the third national Covid lockdown at the home they shared in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
Alfie Steele was found unresponsive at his home in Droitwich, Worcestershire, in February 2021. Dirk Howell, 41, was found guilty of murdering the young boy and his mother, Carla Scott, was convicted of manslaughter.
The trial of Carla Scott and Dirk Howell heard that after his mother met Howell, Alfie "suffered assaults and cruelty, by being beaten, assaulted, punished with cold water and made to endure a life that no child should lead".
Alfie Steele was beaten, held in cold bath water, locked out of the house or in a shed and whipped with belts during a cruel and sinister regime of correction and abuse.
