MYRTLE POINT, Ore. – A hiker who fell while hiking the Doerner Fir Trail with his girlfriend has been found dead, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office says.
Hailey Huckabee, 23, of Roseburg called 911 just after 8 p.m. on March 7 reporting that her boyfriend, Daniel Dyer, 33, of Sutherlin had slipped on the rocks and fell into a creek near the falls.
It happened just after 4 p.m. Huckabee tried to help her boyfriend out of the water and fell in as well, deputies said. Dyer managed to push her to the shore, but she lost sight of him after that.
