A DRUNK driver who crossed over the centre of a busy main road 20 times while on a crime spree was jailed for three years and disqualified from driving for 20 years today.
Daniel Culhane was caught on mobile phone footage by a passenger who was in a car travelling behind him on the main Bandon to Enniskeane road in West Cork on December 16 last, and who was worried about his erratic driving.
A father of three who crossed over to the wrong side of the road twenty times whilst drink driving and then threatened to kill a concerned member of the public who confronted him has been jailed for three years.
Daniel Culhane who lives at an apartment in Owenahincha, Rosscarbery, Co Cork engaged in the dangerous driving on a two and a half kilometre stretch of road in the Enniskeane area of Co Cork on the 16th of December 2020.
Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard evidence from Dt Garda Manus O Donnell who said that Culhane drove dangerously whilst under the influence of alcohol and tablets and in a period of time where he was disqualified from driving.

A drunk driver who crossed the centre line of a main road over 20 times endangering other drivers has been disqualified from driving for 20 years.
Cork Circuit Court Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin said that if he could have he would have disqualified Daniel Culhane for life.
He also sentenced the 30-year-old, with an address at Owenahincha, Rosscarbery in Co Cork, to four years in prison with one year suspended. We are all lucky even more dreadful consequences didn t occur, the judge remarked at Culhane s sentencing hearing.
The father of three pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including endangerment, whereby he created a substantial risk of death or serious harm at four locations around Enniskeane - at Dromovane, Teadies Lower, Murragh and Palaceanne - on 16 December 2020.
