BLACKSBURG, Va. – On the second day of competition at ACC Championships, Daniel Cope won the ACC Championship in the weight throw with his toss of 22.28 meters. That mark not only brought him the conference crown, it is also a Jamaican national record in the event. Alison D’Alessandro set a school-record of her own in the women’s pole vault, clearing 4.11 meters. That mark is .07 higher than her previous record which was third in Clemson history. Dashinelle Dyer won the men’s 60 meter prelims with a time of 6.62, moving him up to seventh on Clemson’s all-time list. He will compete in the finals on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. He also advanced to the finals of the 60 meter hurdles with his time of 7.95. Three Tigers in total will compete for the 60 meter hurdle championship, as Devon Brooks and Giano Roberts will join Dyer at 1:50 p.m., comprising three spots in the eight-man field.
