Santee man pleads not guilty to murder in infant daughter s death

EL CAJON (CNS) - A Santee man accused of in the death of his infant daughter pleaded not guilty today to charges of murder and child abuse.
Daniel Charles Marshall, 34, was arrested and charged last week in connection with the April 25 death of 7-month-old Hailey Marshall.
Paramedics responding to a medical emergency call in the 8600 block of Paseo Del Rey in Santee on April 22 found the child in medical distress, Lt. Thomas Seiver said. She was pronounced dead at a hospital three days later of injuries that included skull fractures, prosecutors said.

A San Diego firefighter pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder and felony child abuse in the death of his infant daughter, who authorities said had several injuries, including skull fractures.
Daniel Charles Marshall, 34, faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder in the death of seven-month-old Hailey Marshall, who was taken to a hospital April 22.
Doctors who treated the infant called authorities. The baby fell into a coma and died three days later.
Sheriff’s Department detectives arrested Marshall last week after a seven-month investigation and booked him into county jail. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
