Master Sgt. Nicholas Van Pelt, 41, of the 219th Security Forces Squadron, died during a shooting at his apartment in Minot, North Dakota, at around 8 p.m. local time Dec. 24, according to a news release from the North Dakota National Guard.
The suspected shooter, 39-year-old Daniel Breijo of Surrey, North Dakota, was found at the scene, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
