Since a tougher-than-expected bout last time out against Marko Calic, the talented Olympic bronze medallist has linked up with Virgil Hunter as his coach.
This contest on Saturday (May 15) against France’s Daniel Blenda Dos Santos, more of a tune-up bout for Buatsi, is thrown into the spotlight after the excellent Terri Harper vs Hyun Mi Choi super-featherweight WBC/WBA title unification fight had to be cancelled after Harper broke her hand again, in just her last sparring session.

Yep, I m back. I ve gone 18-20 pickng (on wins, not rounds or KOs!) over the last two weekends, but I doubt this rate is going to run much longer. That said, there are some intriguing fights this weekend (and some that are not) so off we go.
Or almost just wanted to say that it s cool to see more Fanposts up. I m not sure how long I ll be able to keep doing these, as I m dealing with work and health issues (I think that s called getting old, actually). But there a lot of very smart boxing people here, but we still have an underused forum. Just saying that, as I pretty much read everything and enjoy it. Also, looking for any differences of opinion here too, as I haven t laid my bets yet!

Tommy McCarthy says a victory over Alexandru Jur on Saturday night will set him on the path towards a world title shot, but insists he is not overlooking the Romanian.
The Belfast man is ranked in the top five in two of the four governing bodies and is targeting a shot at one of the world champions, having called out IBF titlist, Mairis Briedis after claiming the strap with a majority decision win over Bilal Laggoune in October.

Joshua Buatsi heads a card at the AO Arena in Manchester this Saturday night, as he makes a sixth defence of his WBA International Light Heavyweight title against France’s Daniel Blenda Dos Santos over a scheduled ten rounds on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN internationally.
The bill was due to be topped by WBC and IBO boss, Terri Harper’s bid to become unified Super Featherweight champion against WBA champion Hyun Mi Choi, but Harper was forced to withdraw with a hand injury just over a week away from fight night.
