Hanoi Vice Chairman Chu Xuan Dung has agreed with the proposal of Hoan Kiem district to reopen Hoan Kiem pedestrian street from March 12. The Huong (Perfume) pagoda will also open one day later.

At the meeting of the Hanoi steering committee for Covid-19 epidemic prevention on Monday, Vice Chairman Dung said that based on the general situation in the country and Hanoi in particular, the risk of an outbreak returning in Hanoi will remain high in the coming time. Dung pointed out several reasons: illegal migrants; the entry of foreign experts; and the current outbreak in Hai Duong province.

Authorities in Hanoi have announced that Huong Pagoda in My Duc District is allowed to reopen on Saturday and weekend pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake are set to resume operations from Friday.
The decision was announced by Hanoi deputy chairman Chu Xuan Dung at the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control’s meeting on Monday afternoon.
Speaking at the meeting, Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Health, said that the capital city had gone 21 days without detecting new cases of COVID-19 in the community.
