Some towns reported receiving more than 18 inches of snow during prolonged winter storm
Gardner News
GARDNER A major nor’easter blew through the region from Monday into Tuesday this week, dumping nearly 18 inches of snow across much of Greater Gardner.
Strong overnight winds caused even higher snowdrifts against houses, garage doors, and cars.
“This was a typical nor’easter,” explained Alan Dunham, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Boston. “This one had a little bit more moisture with it, also it was a little bit of a longer duration storm, so that accounts for the higher snowfall amounts we’re seeing.”
