The College of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Northern Colorado is holding its first-ever Arts Equity Summit! UNC students, faculty, and staff will come together with several guest artists from across the country for a day of workshops, discussions, and performances that explore issues of equity in the arts.

Theatre and Dance Chair Gets Guggenheim

L.M. Bogad Works Justice Issues Into Performance Art, Other Projects by UC Davis Staff Theatre and Dance Professor and Chair L.M. Bogad is one of  two UC Davis College of Letters and Science faculty to receive Guggenheim Fellowships in the past week.  He is exploring current-day political theatre surrounding global climate change. Bogad, as well as Ali Anooshahr, professor of history, are among 184 artists, writers, scholars and scientists across North America named to the 2021 class of Guggenheim Fellows on April 8. They were chosen through a rigorous peer-review process from almost 3,000 applicants. Their selection brings to 42 the number of College of Letters and Science faculty awarded Guggenheim Fellowships eight of them in the past four years.

ECU storybook theatre produces Dr Dolittle play for local children | The East Carolinian

East Carolina University’s Storybook Theatre production of “Dr. Dolittle will be available to stream on April 15 at midnight through April 17 at 11:45 p.m., and will highlight the talents of students through the online premiere on the video streaming platform Showtix4u. ECU School of Theatre and Dance Professor, Coordinator of Theatre Education and Theatre for Youth Head Patricia Patch Clark is the director of “Dr. Dolittle” and said the cast and crew of the production overcame the obstacles presented by COVID-19 restrictions in order to make this production possible. “We were excited about ‘Dr. Dolittle,’ usually storybook theatre performances for the (ECU Fine Arts and Communication) Arts Smart and Family Fare Series. Dr. Dolittle was a wonderful choice because we try to promote reading and the enjoyment and interest in reading,” Clark said.
