Frank Adams (né Francis Harvey Adams)

WASHINGTON DEPOT — Frank Adams (né Francis Harvey Adams of Washington Depot) died in the loving arms of his life partner of 27 years, Valerie Friedman, on July 22, 2021. He was 86 years old. In his last months, Frank fought a valiant battle against cancer. Always upbeat and cheerful, he inspired all who visited him at Danbury Regional Hospice where, in his final weeks, his closest friends and family gathered to share laughs and fond memories, play music and watch the odd match of Wimbledon.  Born the youngest of seven siblings, on September 2, 1934, Frank early on discovered one of the great loves of his life — tennis. At 5 years old, his older siblings and their friends would take him to the local courts in his hometown of Baltic. Frank’s sister, Jeanette Tetreault, recounts how he would struggle with the oversized racquet and, grinning, return a fair number of balls over the net. At 100-years-old, Jeanette is Frank’s only surviving sibling.
