Home stager Anthea Baker photographed at her warehouse in Rosebank, Auckland.
Home stager Ana Stevenson walks out of the four-bedroom house she’s just furnished and styled, and takes a breather on the street for a couple of minutes. Then she walks back past the glossy green buxus plant she placed by the front door, through the hallway of the 1920s bungalow in central Nelson – a house the owners and agent expect will sell for over $1 million – and looks at the place with fresh eyes. She walks backwards through the rooms, looking at the artwork, furniture, rugs, cushions and flowers she has added to the spaces.
