Editor Dana Keller came to Mexico in 1985. That she remained is somewhat surprising – she has lived in six states and went to three high schools. Keller serves as executive director of the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce, a post she has held since 2009. Before that, she was head of the Audrain County Historical Museum. Naked Wines, which first appeared on the WBM 50 when U.S. case sales surpassed 500,000 cases in 2017, has been growing quickly amid the ecommerce surge of the past thirteen months.  The online retailer, founded in the U.K. in 2008, employs a club with a unique spin on crowdsourcing where customers, called Angels, fund independent winemakers in return for wines at wholesale prices. Naked Wines works with WineShipping, which has facilities in California, Missouri, Florida and New York, sending packages to 95 percent of customers within two-days. Classes have been canceled, repeatedly. Games and events have been postponed, and postponed again. Trudging out to protect newborn livestock goes on day after day. But there is now officially one good thing about this particular February. The Village Square Association and the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce decided to extend the I Love Local shopping promotion that would have ended today. People now have until Feb. 27 to purchase items at participating shops and restaurants, earning stamps toward the grand prize.
