The Minot Association of Builders is offering a $500 scholarship in honor of late board member Dana Ebel.
To be eligible, students must be pursuing a career in the building industry at a post-secondary trade school or university. Fields of study may include, but are not limited to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drafting, engineering, architecture, and construction management. A personal essay, recommendation letters, and high school transcript must be included in the scholarship application.
All scholarship criteria and the full application can be found at www.minotab.com/scholarship. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 31.
The scholarship is also being offered to encourage more people to go into these fields. According to the Minot Association of Builders, there is a chronic labor shortage that has resulted in higher construction costs, increased home prices, and lower economic growth.
