Mitchell Brings Innovation to Arkansas Urology (Movers & Shakers)

Ken Mitchell of Arkansas Urology in Little Rock Ken Mitchell, a certified physician’s assistant, has joined Arkansas Urology in Little Rock. Mitchell wrote and implemented an innovative treatment protocol, the surgical impotence management strategy, which provides comprehensive patient education and delivery care for men undergoing prostate cancer treatment. Mitchell received his degree in biology from Dana College and a master’s in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program. Dr. Cliff Fullerton of Baptist Health in Little Rock Dr. Cliff Fullerton has been hired by Baptist Health in Little Rock as the value-based care officer. The value-based care officer is a new position and will be responsible for improving the quality and addressing the cost of health care in Arkansas. Fullerton previously served as president of Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. He is board-certified in family medicine and has a master’s in health care

It s all geared toward the youth : New mission brings residents back to former Dana College campus

When Ed Shada walks around the former Dana College campus, greeting new residents at seemingly every turn, you d never know the grounds sat vacant for nearly a decade. There s a lot of opportunities we re exploring, and it s all geared toward the youth, Shada said. Shada and his non-profit Angels Share are leading redevelopment at the campus. The former owner Frank Krejci donated the land to this cause. Each one of the buildings up here on campus, we ve got sort of a determination as to what it could be utilized as, Shada said. Renamed the Blair Tech Campus, the grounds here are now providing housing to at-risk youth, like those aging out of foster care or nearing homelessness. Shada said eight young people already live in apartments on campus, and there will eventually be more than 70 units. We were able to get this up and running, and we re now starting to fill it, Shada said. This latest project is an extension of work Shada began years ago when he founded Project Homel

Gary Clark resigns from GFDC to take new position in Washington

COLLIN SPILINEK Fremont Tribune After three years with the Greater Fremont Development Council, Garry Clark said his time in Fremont is over for now as he takes a new position across the country. “This shouldn’t be a sad feeling, but almost a feeling of pride from the city of Fremont that your leadership, the people that you cultivate there, that people want them all over the world,” he said. “And so I just tip my hat to Fremont and thank them all for the support and opportunities.” On Wednesday, Clark announced that he had resigned from his position as president and CEO to accept the same title and role with the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County in Washington state.

Dec 14, 2020 MOORLAND Sandra “Sandy” (Moe) Johnson of Fremont, age 72, passed away peacefully at home. She was the eldest child of Moorland, IA farmers, Howard and Donna (Lang) Moe. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1966 and attended Iowa Central Community College. Sandy transferred to the University of Northern Iowa and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1970. She taught school for several years in Waterloo, IA, where she met and married John C. Johnson in 1974. In 1974, the newly dubbed “Mrs. Johnson” moved to Fremont where she raised her two daughters and taught hundreds of Fremont Public School children over 32 years; she taught 3rd and 4th grade at Howard Elementary for 30 of those years. Sandy earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Dana College in 1996 all while teaching full-time and raising a family. Sandy lived near Howard School until she retired and enjoyed seeing her current and former students in the neighborhood.
