Beartusk Sentenced
On March 29 of 2020, 55-year-old Dana Beartusk murdered Angelina Beartusk, Seana Fisher, and Mochdaveyano “Blackhawk” Fisher at a mobile home in Big Horn. Immediately after the killings, Beartusk called his brother and confessed what he’d done before fleeing the crime scene in a vehicle. Beartusk stopped at a couple of convenience stores in Sheridan before heading north to Montana. Beartusk was arrested soon after and charged with the crimes. In May, three firearms that belonged to Beartusk, including the murder weapon, a 40 caliber Glock pistol, were found alongside a road near Kirby, Montana. Beartusk was originally charged with three counts of First Degree Murder, but at a change of plea hearing in February of this year, pleaded “guilty” to three amended counts of Second Degree Murder.
Wyoming Man Sentenced to Life in Prison After Killing Three
SHERIDAN (AP) A judge has sentenced a Wyoming man to life in prison after he pleaded guilty in February to killing three family members in March 2020.
The Sheridan Press reported Tuesday that Judge John Fenn sentenced 55-year-old Dana Beartusk to three consecutive sentences of 45 years to life in prison after he was convicted of second-degree murder.
Beartusk told Fenn in February that he was intoxicated when he killed them.
Defense attorney Marty Scott argued in court that Beartusk was too drunk to remember what happened.
Beartusk said he doesn’t know why he committed the murders.
Wyoming Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Three Relatives
SHERIDAN (AP) A Wyoming man accused of killing three relatives has pleaded guilty.
Fifty-five-year-old Dana Beartusk pleaded guilty Tuesday in state District Court in Sheridan to three counts of second-degree murder.
Beartusk told Judge John Fenn he was intoxicated when he killed 54-year-old Seana Fisher, 25-year-old Mochdaveyano “Blackhawk” Fisher, and 51-year-old Angelina Beartusk in March 2020.
Their bodies were found in Beartusk s home in Big Horn.
The Sheridan Press reported Beartusk initially was charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
Each second-degree murder charge is punishable by at least 20 years in prison.
A sentencing hearing is set for April 13.
