If you were watching Sunday’s Super Bowl on the local CBS affiliate and stuck it out to the end of the game, you might have been surprised to see a commercial about Stokes County.
“Stokes County State of Mind” was not a nationwide, multi-million dollar ad buy, but a regional commercial purchased with WFMY-TV that was mostly paid for with grant funding. It was the work of County Tourism Director Tory Mabe and a host of others.
Back in the fall, Mabe began applying for grants wuth the North Carolina Department of Travel and Tourism, and was able to secure more than $20,000 through COVID Cares funding.
