A statement released by ITV this evening said: Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.

Earlier today Dan aimed a jibe at his rival host after he stormed off the GMB set following an argument with his co-host Alex Beresford over Meghan and Harry.
Alongside a snapshot of the forecast in question, Carol also looked surprised to see a giant ginger and white cat appear on the backdrop behind her.
The weather presenter often features photos sent in from fans of the show, and this time is just happened to be her favourite animal.
Rushing to the comments section, fans giggled as they recalled it was a particularly funny moment of the program. This made my day, one remembered.
