The new British Touring Car Championship season kicks off this weekend at Thruxton, with a full grid of 29 cars ready to do battle on the quickest circuit on the calendar.
Although no fans will be in attendance – hopefully the final time that will be the case – there is set to be plenty of action for those watching live on ITV4 to enjoy after a busy winter that saw a raft of chances across the grid.
That is most notably true amongst the manufacturer-backed teams after the departure of Honda from the series, leaving Team Dynamics to run as an Independent outfit for the first time in more than a decade.

Defending champion Ash Sutton has welcomed the chance to “tinker away” with his title-winning Infiniti Q50 as preparations continue for the start of the new British Touring Car Championship season.
The Laser Tools Racing driver secured his second title at the wheel of the car last season, despite the team being able to conduct only limited testing across the year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Already this season, the team has been able to complete a number of days of running as it seeks to strengthen the package going into the season opener at Thruxton, with Sutton admitting that there had been improvements to make.

On March 8, the Forest City School Board heard details of plans to almost completely rebuild the districtâs aging wind generation turbine.
Dan Millard, school maintenance staff who works on and maintains the turbine, said it needs a new gearbox and generator. He noted that within the last year, some play has developed in the gearbox, which causes a need for periodic readjustments for sensors to work properly.
He said the gear box is a replacement from two years after the turbine was installed and that the generator is the original and the unit can be rebuilt. The condition of the blades is believed to be OK following a recent inspection. They could be inspected more closely when work on the wind turbine commences. The outside of the blades could be recoated.
