Potential legislation that would prohibit funding for teaching critical race theory and the 1619 Project in schools has support across Wyoming, a Park County state legislator said Monday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.”
Both CRT and 1619, in essence, claim America was founded on racism and that systemic racism continues to this day in the U.S.
“At our last (Park County Republican Party) central committee meeting, we passed a resolution stating that we oppose taxpayer dollars to fund critical race theory and project 1619,” Rep. Rachel Rodriguez-Williams said. “And at the last state meeting this past weekend, they passed a resolution for that as well.”

CHEYENNE â After four years of attempts, state lawmakers are close to passing legislation that would reduce Democratic representation on the powerful and traditionally nonpartisan legislative committee that sets the agendas, rules and protocols for the entire body.
Sponsored by Rep. Dan Laursen, R-Powell, House Bill 36 â Management council membership would reduce the overall number of positions on the Legislatureâs Management Council and effectively reduce the proportion of minority-party lawmakers that must be included by making several of the seats available to âat-largeâ candidates.
If passed into law, the bill would immediately impact the makeup of the Management Council, a leadership committee that designates the legislative agenda, disciplines members and sets rules and regulations for the entire Legislature.
