The St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission announced that a film crew will be shooting the feature film A Taste of Love in Dunedin and other locales around the county during the next three weeks as part of a production that will be partly financed by the Pinellas County government.

Local, national community college sees decline in credit course enrollment

The end of the school year usually has many students thinking ahead to college, but that s not the case for a growing number of high school graduates. While four-year universities saw a slight rise in enrollment last fall, the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center found that community college enrollment is down just over 10% nationwide. High school junior Emeron Christensen is working toward getting his welding certificate at Westside High School. Eventually, I want to be able to own my own welding company and source steel and stuff out to places, Christensen said. Christensen is dually enrolled at Metropolitan Community College where he plans to take a couple more courses. Then once he graduates he ll have a job waiting for him. While students like Christensen are ahead of the curve, MCC said some of its student enrollment is down. View Comments Springfield-area people have their chance to promote herd im-MOO-nity at outreach COVID-19 vaccine clinics to be held at public park facilities in the next eight weeks, a Springfield-Greene Park Board spokesperson said Monday morning. Clinics are coming soon to taxpayer-owned locations like Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, Dickerson Park Zoo and the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden. To sweeten the deal for folks getting their arms jabbed, special incentives are available for people who get vaccinated at a park board location. They include free admission to facilities on the days clinics are held, for those who choose to get vaccinated, Park Board spokesperson Jenny Fllmer Edwards said Monday. Similar givebacks include a thank-you card that offers a variety of discounts for park board services like boat rentals, Edwards said.
