100 Year Old Message in a Bottle Found At Detroit Train Station
Crews renovating Detroit s Michigan Central Station made an incredible discovery last week when they unearthed a 100 year old message in a bottle.
Last year, Ford Motor Company made the announcement that they were planning and renovating the old Michigan Central Station and turning it into a walkable 30-acre campus. The station, which opened in 1913, has been shuttered since 1988.
I can only imagine the history that building holds. However, as reported by Fox 2 Detroit, crews were in the process of removing an unstable wall when one worker suddenly called for them to stop. Inside the plaster was this bottle complete with a note inside:

Crews working at Michigan Central Station recently stumbled upon a pre-Prohibition-era Strohâs beer bottle with a mysterious message neatly rolled and stuffed inside. Ford archivists removed the paper Thursday to reveal a message that is believed to have been written by two men who worked on the stationâs original construction in 1913, though the entirety of the message is unclear.

Century Old Letter In A Bottle Found at MI Central Station
When excavating a really old building, you never know what you re going to find.
Over the last 2+ years, the Ford Motor Company has been working on renovating Michigan Central Station in Detroit. As crews work hard to fix up the building and turn it into an office workspace, they made a pretty cool discovery.
Where did the workers find that message in the bottle and what did it say?
The two workers responsible for finding the bottle were laborer Lukas Nielsen and foreman Leo Kimble. While working on a scissor lift to remove a plaster cornice from the wall, Nielsen notices the bottle and stopped Kimble from striking the wall.
