× A BARNSLEY police sergeant has thanked residents for intelligence which led to a £100,000 drug bust earlier this week.
The Barnsley West Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant on Monday morning at a property on Shaw Lane - and cannabis plants were found in ‘every room’.
Sgt Dan Goodinson told the Chronicle it was thanks to the local community that they were able to take such a large quantity of drugs off the street.
He said: “There was more than £100,000 of drugs but it does happen quite regularly - when you’ve got every room packed with cannabis, that’s what it’s often worth.
