Moving those ideas from the campus into the world, however, can be a challenge. By creating a network of industry players, Midwestern universities are addressing this gap.
The Edge Collaboration District The Edge Collaboration District is a partnership between Kansas State University and the KSU Foundation to inspire industry collaboration along the northern edge of the campus. “It’s where industry, research, and talent come together to produce meaningful innovations and real outcomes in Kansas and beyond,” says Kate Ryan, commercial leasing and engagement manager, KSU Foundation.
Purdue University Faculty Ambassador Program Aims to Support Agriculture Innovators
Christian Butzke, a food science professor and wine industry entrepreneur, has been selected as the first innovation and entrepreneurship fellow.
To kick off the program, the College of Agriculture has appointed Christian Butzke, a food science professor and wine industry entrepreneur, as the first innovation and entrepreneurship fellow.
“I could not be more excited about this great opportunity to share my passion for innovation and entrepreneurship with our wonderful faculty,” Butzke said. “I look forward to working with faculty and students who are interested in commercialization to take their innovations to the world.”
