Within the last 30 minutes friends of the woman who was found have identified her to me as wendy rodriguez, a person they describe as a wonderufl friend and Family Member whos life was taken too soon. They say they last heard from her last night when she went to the bank, they were searching for her until moments ago. We now know wendy was the victim of this horrible crime. Police say the homeowner called to report her body after midnight. When officers went in to investigate they found rodriguez on the ground. Officers tell me she was only wearing a bra and it looked like someone partially covered her with a blanket. The town of Palisade, using CARES Act funding, has purchased three tents for Palisade High School to use for outdoor learning and gathering spaces.
The town ordered three tents last fall and used federal funding for COVID-19 relief to help pay for them, Town Administrator Janet Hawkinson said. They were finally delivered this week and town staff, Palisade Police and Palisade High School staff helped erect the tents Tuesday.
âWe knew schools were getting tents for outdoor classrooms so we reached out to the high school to see if they wanted some,â Hawkinson said. âThey did request three, so that is part of the CARES Act funding.â
