CLEVELAND, Ohio Last week, as the Cleveland Cavaliers were starting to get overwhelmed by injuries, they made the decision as a group to sacrifice offense for defense, slow games down, minimize possessions and repeatedly use the majority of the shot clock. With numerous key pieces inactive, the Cavs felt it was their only hope of staying competitive.
The goal was to win ugly. Cleveland sure accomplished the ugly part on Tuesday night, just not the other half of the formula, losing to the Utah Jazz, 117-87.
Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points and Jordan Clarkson added 21 to lift the visiting Utah Jazz to a 117-87 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tues.
