Despite reports of a person seen with weapon near Damonte Ranch High School, a police investigation found there was no risk to students or staff at the school in South Reno.
The school went on a Code Red lockdown Friday morning while school police and the Reno Police Department investigated reports of a person seen, who was possibly carrying a weapon, walking from a construction site near the school. Within a short time, that person was closer to the school and we were concerned that they may have disposed of the firearm on or near our campus, said Damonte Principal Darvel Bell.
