Credit: Share Samoa’s new prime minister has been busy ever since she was finally allowed to take office last week. In late July, a Samoan appeals court confirmed Fiamē Naomi Mata-afa the leader of the new Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasii party, or FAST as the country’s new prime minister, since being sworn in during an ad-hoc tent ceremony in May. The confirmation brings to a close a dramatic political stalemate that left the small Pacific island nation without a leader for some three months.

Samoa: Tuilaepa accuses FAST party of treason following official swearing in ceremony Newshub 3 hrs ago © Photo: RNZ /Watch: Newshub Samoa s caretaker Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has accused the FAST Party of treason following the party s swearing in during a ceremony on the lawns of Parliament.  Hundreds gathered on Monday expecting Parliament to reconvene, only to find FAST Party leader, Fiame Naomi Mata afa, and her supporters had been locked out of Parliament.  So the ceremony took place under a tent on the lawns outside.  But as the ceremony concluded and Fiame sworn in as the new Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, refused to stand aside.
