MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) A man drowned after he and three others fell through ice while checking a lake for fishing, authorities said.
Damion Moog’s body was recovered Saturday at Durfee Lake in Lenawee County’s Medina Township, the sheriff’s department said.
Four people were checking the thickness of the lake ice Friday night with a plan to return and fish Saturday. They all fell in; three survived.
Moog, 22, lived in Hudson.

Divers recover body of Hudson man from Durfee Lake

MEDINA TOWNSHIP At 10:42 a.m. Saturday, divers recovered the body of a Hudson man who fell through the ice Friday night on Durfee Lake in Medina Township.
A news release from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 22-year-old Damion Moog.
Moog and three friends walked out onto the ice on Durfee Lake Friday night to check if it was safe for ice fishing Saturday.
“As they walked across the ice, all four subjects fell through a thin area of the ice,” the release stated. “Three of the subjects were able to get out of the water.”
