Members of the Manitoulin OPP have made additional arrests in relation to a Jan. 21, 2021 shooting incident on Albert Street in Espanola, in which one person was injured. Three people were charged following the incident. After further investigation, four more people were arrested and charged on April 22. Damien Boucier, 39 years of age, from Espanola was charged with: assault with a weapon; disguise with intent; robbery using firearm; careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; firearm – use while committing offence; and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.
