Mule Day, music and monster trucks on board for the weekend

This weekend offers one popular Mule Day event making its way to the stage, as well as some great live music and entertainment options to get out of the house.
1. Mule Day Auctioneers Championship
This weekend kicks off with an event that brings a little of the Mule Day spirit back with one of its more popular competitions.
The 2021 Mule Day Auctioneers Championship, begins at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Tennessee Livestock Sale Barn at 1231 Industrial Park Drive. The event also supports the Columbia Breakfast Rotary Club s College Scholarship.

The weekend before Christmas is the perfect time to get out and gaze at the lights, celebrate with loved ones (even the dog) and get in the 2020 holiday spirit.
1. Holiday Lights in the Park
Christmastime in Columbia isn t complete without a drive through the park to look at all the decorative lights.
And this year we ve got two lighted drives to enjoy.
Presented by Columbia Parks & Recreation, Holiday Lights in the Park kicked off this week and will run from 5:30-8 p.m. every night through Dec. 26.
This year s lights will once again be at Woodland Park, with the route starting at the Rainey House at 821 W. 9th St. A second light show will be at Fairview Park starting at the park s main entrance at 871 Ironbridge Road.
