Help clean up Honolua Bay
By Staff | Feb 26, 2021 Honolua Bay stewards seek volunteers for a major cleanup on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 to 11 a.m. Volunteers will meet in the Honolua Bay small parking area across from the purple food truck. Drop in any time between 8 and 10:30 a.m. and you’ll be directed to different areas that need attention. Projects will include picking up litter around Honolua Bay and planting milo trees. Volunteers will also load piles of rubbish collected at the baseyard into a trash dumpster. If you have a truck, you may be needed to haul some pallets or tires to the dump (e-mail ashley@dthmaui.com for information).

Don’t sleep on Diego Ferri. He’s coming on like a hurricane. Hailing from the Eastside of Oahu, he’s quickly emerging as one of the best up-and-comers from the Islands. Taking out the Open Men’s title at the recent NSSA National Championships, he also finished the comp with a second-place result in the Men’s Explores and a third in the Open Juniors.
“Super cool representing Hawaii and on the trophy, they say all the names right on here. They have Andy Irons on there, Bruce Irons, John John, Seth Moniz and Josh Moniz and Kekoa Bacalso, super awesome,” Ferri said after the win.
