Five Teenagers Stand Accused of Killing One Woman in Georgia

Four teenagers in Georgia have been arrested in connection with a murder investigation dating back to February. Kennedy Collins, 17, and Jocelyn Spencer, 17, were both charged with felony murder and aggravated assault over the death of  Faith Burns, 20, who was shot and killed near a home in Dacula, Ga. on Valentine’s Day. Two 16-year-old girls whose names are not being released and who hail from Snellville, Ga. were also arrested in connection with Burns’s death. Collins and Spencer are both residents of Loganville, Ga., about 15 minutes away. A fifth suspect, Damia Mitchell, 17, turned herself into police two days after the slaying after being the original person of interest in the puzzling and alleged five-person homicide. Teens arrested on murder charges in Gwinnett County, police say By FOX 5 Atlanta Digital Team Published  article DACULA, Ga. - Gwinnett County police said two 17-year-old girls are behind bars and two 16-year-olds were also arrested in connection to a February homicide investigation in Dacula.  Police said Friday night Kennedy Collins and Jocelyn Spencer, both 17-year-olds from Loganville, were arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection to the death of 20-year-old Faith Burns, shot dead in February in a home on Uniwattee Trail in Dacula. Both are in Gwinnett County Jail, police said.  Two 16-year-old suspects were also arrested, police say. The arrests come after police issued warrants for the arrest of another 17-year-old girl, Damia Mitchell of Snellville. Police said Mitchell turned herself in. She was wanted for murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a person under 18.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A 17-year-old was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of a 20-year-old Gwinnett County woman on Valentine’s Day. Gwinnett County police said the incident stemmed from some sort of argument. She will always be my baby and I will always love her, Hope Burns, the victim’s mother said. It is a day usually associated with love, but it turned into heartbreak for the mother and father of Faith Burns. Gwinnett County police said Burns was shot and killed by Damia Mitchell in what investigators describe as a domestic altercation at a home on Uniwattee Trail.

Teenager wanted on murder charges for shooting arrested     Snellville, Georgia (Gwinnett Daily Post) Gwinnett County police said 17-year-old Damia Mitchell of Snellville, who was wanted on felony murder charges, has turned herself in. Mitchell was wanted for charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a person under 18 in the domestic-related death of a woman that occurred Sunday afternoon near Dacula. The victim was 20-year-old Faith Burns from Loganville. “Investigators believe that Burns and Mitchell knew each other and had a domestic altercation prior to this shooting,” Cpl. Collin Flynn said. “They also believe there were multiple people present during the shooting and detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.”
