No 18/18 Irish Travel to West Virginia

No. 18/18 Irish Travel to West Virginia share NOTRE DAME, Indiana No. 18/18 Notre Dame will travel to West Virginia for the first true road dual meet of the 2020-21 season for the Irish, taking place January 29-30.  The Irish competed against West Virginia once already this season in a virtual meet, from which Notre Dame emerged victorious. No. 21/RV Irish To Host Shamrock Invitational share NOTRE DAME, Indiana The No. 21/RV Notre Dame Swim and Dive team will host the annual Shamrock Invitational January 21-23, with the men facing Missouri State and the women facing No. 25 Akron.  Notre Dame’s final home meet of the season serves as a multi-day competition to lead into championship competition at the conference and national levels. It also marks the anniversary of the 1992 bus accident that injured multiple people and killed two Notre Dame women’s swimmers, Meghan Beeler and Colleen Hipp. Additionally, the Shamrock Invitational will include ceremonies to recognize the 11 Irish senior student-athletes on their Senior Days.

Irish Open 2021 Hosting Cardinals share NOTRE DAME, Indiana The No. 21/RV Notre Dame Swim and Dive team opens the 2021 slate playing host to No. 13/14 Louisville in a dual meet on Saturday, January 9. It marks the first meet against an ACC opponent for the Irish this season.  “It’s always great to compete against another ACC team. Louisville and Notre Dame are the furthest-west schools in the ACC, so we’re able to have those competitions, and it always brings out the best in each team,” Notre Dame head swim coach Mike Litzinger noted. “We’ve gone down there and competed well, they’ve come up here and competed well, and there’s some really great opportunities for high performance in those competitions.”
