Kota Kinabalu: The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) has restarted the initiative made in 2014 to nominate Danum-Maliau-Imbak Canyon (DaMaI) – Malaysia’s largest conservation area – as an Unesco World Heritage Site.
Its Minister Datuk Christina Liew said a series of meetings were held with relevant agencies such as the State Attorney-General’s Chamber (SAGC), Natural Resource Office (NRO), Sabah Forestry Department (SFD), Sabah Lands and Surveys Department (LSD), Sabah Parks (SP), DaMaI Management Committee (Yayasan Sabah) and Sabah Environmental Trust (SET).
