nbc news.com has an in depth look at this in a series called powering the future. facebook is facing another investigation into its data privacy practices. the new york times reports federal prosecutors are conducting a criminal investigation into the company s data agreements with technology companies. according to the paper a grand jury subpoenaed information from at least two companies known for making smart phones and other devices. the times reports there are some 150 companies, including microsoft, yahoo! apple and samsung, that had agreements to access information from hundreds of millions of users, sometimes without their concept, the deals have been phased out over the past r past two years. a facebook spokesman gave this statement we cooperating with investors and take those probes seriously. we provided public testimony, answered questions and pledged we will continue to do so. when the deals were first revealed last year, facebook argued it did not give companies
