Daly City police officer fatally shoots man, police say

A Daly City police officer fatally shot a man on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Daly City police released few details about the fatal police shooting, but said in a statement that a police officer contacted people in a vehicle on the 700 block of Niantic Avenue in Daly City at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said “During the contact, a Daly City Police Officer fired his service weapon, striking an unidentified man.” Officials did not say what prompted the officer to shoot.
The man who was shot was taken to a local trauma hospital, where he died.
