Like many cities throughout North Texas, DeSoto police have been dealing with an increase in street racing, Police Cpl. Pete Schulte said during a virtual public safety town hall meeting earlier this month.
Schulte presented information on police responses to 18 street racing incidents dating back to November with the most recent occurring at the end of March. Police issued tickets, gave verbal warnings or had cars towed and ticketed in response to incidents of racing, burn outs, blocking traffic or performing donuts in the street.
