A bench of Justices MS Ramesh and N Anand Venkatesh dismissed the appeals preferred by the 10 convicts, including S Yuvaraj, the prime accused and leader of a local dominant caste outfit.
Ten persons, who were accused in the murder of Dalit youth Gokulraj, had filed appeals challenging their conviction shortly after they were sentenced in March 2022 by the Madurai Special Sessions Court.

Agra: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old Dalit youth was tied up, thrashed and beaten to death by the family of his girlfriend in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
The victim had gone to meet his girlfriend who belonged to a different caste. The youth succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Prem Nagar.
