Plant has been functional to supply oxygen to patients
Surat: The New Civil Hospital (NCH) in Surat will now be producing its own oxygen which is likely to reduce its dependence on outside resources. As the Diamond City grapples with a shortage of infrastructure and resources to deal with Covid-19 crisis, the 2 kilo-litre pressure swing adsorption (PSA) plant at NCH will help ease pressure on the government hospital. This plant is probably the first in the state, out of the sanctioned four, to begin functioning.
After testing, the plant has been functional since the last two days and the oxygen supply is being used for the patients. Total 162 plants were recently sanctioned by the government of India to be installed at government hospitals across the country.
