THE ANC Mpumalanga has rubbished suggestions that it was tactically delaying to start its elective conference because of the ongoing court bid to interdict it due to unresolved disputes.
“We’re proceeding with conference until being told otherwise by the court. They are bringing an interdict to stop the conference but we’re saying time has lapsed. There’s no way their case can be urgent.”
They claimed the NWC had no right to convert the Provincial Executive Committee into a task team , insisting only the National Executive Committee has the powers to turn a PEC into a PTT.

Mpumalanga has struggled to successfully hold its conference to replace David Mabuza, who left the province when he was elected to national office in 2017, but his shadow continues to linger over the province, with many who were once loyal to him now at odds.
