Gov Matawalle visits Zamfara bandits-ravaged communities On Kindly Share This Story: Gov Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has suspended his three official engagements to the neighbouring Sokoto State to sympathise with victims of bandits attacks in two local government areas of Zamfara. This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Jamilu Iliyasu, the Press Secretary to the Governor, and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Friday. He stated that “the governor cancelled his official engagements in Sokoto State and immediately returned to the state to sympathise with the victims of Thursday’s bandits attack in Maradun and Tsafe local government areas of the state.”

Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has suspended his three official engagements to the neighbouring Sokoto State to sympathise with victims of bandits attacks in two local government areas of Zamfara.

Bandits Attack Six Villages, Kill Scores In Zamfara

  The attacks on six villages by bandits have left scores of villagers killed in Zamfara State, the government said on Friday. Mr Jamilu Magaji, who is the press secretary to the state governor, confirmed in a statement that the attacks were carried out in two Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. Villages, where scores of people were killed by the bandits, included Damaga, Jihiya, Shandame, Gidan Runji and Daki Hudu all in Maradun LGA, while the sixth village that came under attack was Kizara in Tsafe LGA. Magaji explained that the state governor, Bello Matawalle, had to cancel his official engagements in Sokoto State because of the attacks.
