While both teams enjoyed strong pitching, it was Soddy Daisy’s Taylor Lloyd who walked away with the “W” in Monday night’s Region 3AA semifinal matchup. Lloyd’s pitching was key, but she can credit the bats of Hope Ingle and Jenna Sims as the catalyst for the Lady Trojans facing White Co. in the region finals on Wednesday. Late inning heroics gave Soddy Daisy a slim 2-1 win.

The third time was the charm for the East Hamilton softball team.
Facing the Soddy Daisy Lady Trojans for the third time this spring, the first win for the Lady Canes couldn’t have come at a better time as it gave them the top seed for the upcoming District 5-AAA tournament, which will be at Cleveland.
Soddy Daisy’s Taylor Lloyd and East Hamilton’s Syerra Rogers locked up in an amazing pitcher’s dual and it’s a tough break that either of them had to lose as both deserved to get a win for the effort they put forth.

It was a classic high school softball game at Soddy Daisy’s Clifford Kirk Stadium between two teams that have a history of outstanding play as they both have solid pitching, stiff defenses and hitters that can hit the ball all over the place.
East Hamilton and Soddy Daisy met with first place in District 5-AAA on the line.
Syerra Rogers matched goose eggs with Soddy Daisy’s Taylor Lloyd for the first four innings as both had eight strikeouts to that point, but Rogers blinked, the Lady Trojans broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the fifth en route to a 4-1 victory for a 15-4 record overall and 4-0 in 5AAA.
